Ergo therapy

Ergo therapy ( working therapy ) is part of the therapeutic – vindication process and comprises manual, creative, recreational, social, educational and other activities in order to achieve a specific function or some behavior of the patients.

The movement – exercising as a natural process – has a goal of bringing back or retain the human health.

Ergo therapy is a way of healing where the work represents a sequence of movement with a goal of finishing some work. Ever since long time ago, the effect of the work on the psychological, physical and social wellbeing is broadly known, and that is way we can approve the saying that the work fulfills the man. Since the human organism is formed for locomotion during the evolution, it needs activity and work to function normally. Modern rehabilitation involves a complex of applying means and actions in order to save, nurse and develop the other abilities of the unsound.

These people are no longer a subject for conducting different medical actions, but an active member of a team who contributes in the training.

This therapy, by using different activities, also uses simple equipment and devices made of different materials, in a way where a certain amount of movement is used.

The ergo therapy uses the following methods:

- Functional training

- Practicing activities for self-preservation;

- Practicing everyday activities;

- Orthotics protech methods;

- Estimation of the working abilities;

- Pre-professional estimation;

- Professional orientation;

- Architectural – technical adaptation;

- Adapting the working means;

- Motivating the patient for work and recovery;

- Affecting the mood, patience and self-reliance of the patient.

The goal is resocialization, i.e. regaining maximum ability for developing the other capacities for returning to the living and social surrounding, or simply said returning back to everyday life.
